"Namibia's Urban Future - Uprooting the Apartheid City"

In memory of Prof Fabio Todeschini (1940-2018)

The first Forum took place in August 2015. It was connected to a Massterclass on 'Effective city design for Namibia - Theory and Practice' (see Programme), led by Prof Fabio Todeschini, Emeritus Professor, at the University of Cape Town (South Africa).

The Forum featured a keynote by Hon Minister of Urban and Rural Development, Sophia Shaningwa (see Speech) and a presentation by Prof Todeschini titled "The need for a mind-shift in urban development planning". The poster of the previous forum can be downloaded here.

The event was convened by NUST (then Polytechnic of Namibia), City of Windhoek, the Office of the First Lady, the Namibia Institute of Architects, and the Urban Design Institute of Namibia.
